Sonic – a prefix/infix/suffix for words with meanings that relate to acoustics
Flux – comes from latin word: fluxus means “flow”, and fluere means “to flow”

We define Sonicflux as “the sounds that flow”.

Entering the era of DIGITALISM, many things have changed. Big record labels are no longer the brain of music industry. The musicians are. The people are. Some people say, “Hey, you don’t live in America. That time hasn’t come in Indonesia.”

Well… Maybe it hasn’t, but it will.

That’s the reason we’re here: exploring the blue ocean.

Now, let me introduce them to you…

This guy is Elia Bintang. He sings, writes songs, and plays acoustic guitar. The turning point of his music was after he recorded a compilation album “Kompilasi Band Baru” with his previous band, Alaska, under EMI Music Indonesia. The album took him nowhere.

Since that time, he realized the weakness of working with major labels – high budget-(not so)high impact, exploitation of the music, and the worst is… the art is not valued, only the money.

Hell I don’t understand.

Boby Priambodo is the guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter of Cozy Street Corner, the band that – in my opinion – redeems Indonesian music.

With Cozy Street Corner, he has recorded three albums – “Cozy”, “Nirmana”, “In the Corner”. He’s now working on Cozy’s fourth album.

Sonicflux is his new exploration of music as the work of art. When I asked him yesterday about what people need to know about him and his music, he said one simple thing…

“Honesty in music.”

David Weill began his music journey with Avimia, the band who won Banten Music Festival ‘97. After that, he played as a session player with various bands.

He is now a bassist of The Variance, a pop psychedelic band. He is also an additional player for Puguh Kribo who plays rock metal and SOED Band who play jazz and R&B.

The first time he jammed with Sonicflux, he caught our ears with his cool groovy style.

Well… He brings a different color to Sonicflux’s music.

Adventus Dwi Sasongko is the drummer. He played with Viky Sianipar Band during 2000-2003. Back on 2001, he played regularly with Bibus – the vocalist of Gruvi – at Flame Cafe (Bale Air).

He was also a drummer of Screw Gate Band who jammed with several big names, such as Glenn Fredly, Tata Young, Rio Febrian, etc.

He is now a drum instructor at GMC and also an additional player for Puguh Kribo. The first time he jammed with Sonicflux, he brought variety to the beat.

Well… I think that’s it. Enjoy the ride!
